The game isn't focused at just speedballers. Speedball is only a fraction of the overall paintball playing audience. There are tons more Rec/Woods/Scenario players than speedball. It's just that Speedball is the "sport friendly" image as far as television/events. The game is going to feature everything (rec/woods/speed/etc) and not just speedball. Since Speedball is only a small margin of the entire PB audience why would you want to "alienate" the casual player by giving the portrayal that the single largest styles of gameplay aren't a big part?
